The Subject Was Boys

Quietly, the girls talk long after bedtime. Mustn't disturb the strict Victorian parents! Are they sisters? Are they cousins? Are they friends? On the dresser sits a doll with long blond curls and a pretty red dress. On the other side of the lace-curtained window, a picture of a knight in armor on a white horse hangs in a golden frame. In transition from childhood to adulthood, the girls are at a crossroads in their lives. Unframed. (Original)
